Sleeping beauty earrings

Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is one of the premier sources of American turquoise. Its name is derived from the mountain near Globe, Arizona, where it was mined. The mountain's outline, resembling a reclining woman, inspired the name Sleeping Beauty. Initially, the mine was focused on copper and gold, but discovering this rare and beautiful turquoise shifted mining focus before operations ceased in 2013.
With the mine closed and no prospects for reopening, the scarcity of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise has only increased its appeal and value. It is exceedingly rare, making it highly valued by indigenous jewelers and discerning collectors.
Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is celebrated for its distinct hue, which ranges from a pale, chalky blue to a vibrant "robin's egg" blue with no hint of the matrix to obscure clarity. This makes it one of the most sought-after gemstones in the turquoise market.

Dan commissioned me to create a unique Christmas gift for his older sister. She adores blue turquoise and is fond of long dangle earrings, which complement her tall frame. I sourced an exquisite pair of matching Sleeping Beauty Turquoise drops that perfectly suited her taste. The long drops had beautiful proportions, and the clarity of the blue was pristine.

To balance the turquoise, we designed diamond cluster tops that seem to flow over the top of the stone. Dan’s sister asked if we could make the diamond earrings detachable, and we were delighted to make this a reality. See how removing the turquoise drops transforms these earrings into elegant daily-wear jewelry.

Hand-fabricated in platinum, the earrings showcase our signature wire work, which adds an elegant touch and protects the turquoise's top part during wear. This thoughtful design ensures beauty and practicality, making the earrings a cherished addition to any jewelry collection.
