A Pink Sapphire for Everyday Elegance

Our neighbor Josie, a full-time engineer and mother of two, asked me to create a custom ring with a touch of pink. Given her hectic schedule, she prefers simple, understated jewelry for everyday use. Designing a ring that suits a client's lifestyle is a fun and rewarding challenge, knowing the piece will be worn and appreciated daily.
We guided Josie through the distinctions between morganite, pink spinel, pink tourmaline, and pink sapphire, including color, durability, and cost. After careful consideration, Josie decided upon pink sapphire.
Sapphire is most commonly associated with the color blue, but it surprisingly exists in a broad spectrum of colors and qualities. These gems, known as 'Fancy Sapphires,' can be found in hues of pink, orange, yellow, green, purple, and violet.

Pink sapphire, with a hardness rating of 9.0 on the Mohs scale, is among the toughest pink gemstones, making it perfect for a daily wear ring for Josie. After sourcing stones in different hues and shapes, Josie selected a stunning 2.07 carat pink sapphire.

We designed a minimalist platinum band to match Josie's preference for simplicity and clean lines. Sparkle was added with small diamonds leading down the edge of the ring.  The center stone was set in 18k yellow gold, the perfect color to complement the pink sapphire.
The ring was hand fabricated to create jewelry strong enough for daily wear but aesthetically delicate.

For a comfort fit, we filed the inside of the ring shank, ensuring a smooth inner band that provides exceptional daily comfort. The diamonds on the upper half of the band give beautiful detail but allow for future resizing.
